Welcome to the new official website of the Rhode Island Medical Advocacy Project! Here you'll find all the info available about our organisation: our history, our news, what we do. This website is managed by the members of RIMAP, and acts as a point of contact for the group, and also as a resource for those curious or passionate about the plight of the homeless in the state of Rhode Island.
RIMAP is a group dedicated to the equal treatment of the homeless in Rhode Island, and the end of discrimination against the homeless in emergency rooms, doctor's offices, clinics, and in emergency response situations. Our primary action is conducting sensitivity trainings for healthcare professionals and medical students, and other future healthcare workers, by fostering a culture of tolerance and understanding for the special needs of the homeless. We are available to answer questions and to book sensitivity training activities, workshops and lectures.
